  1. Any chance you could upload your WTF and Interface folders somewhere?

    Comment by Gotham — August 28, 2008 @ 6:29 am

  2. I was meaning to upload a few little bits, especially the Spartan UI.LUA seeing as it fixes a few bugs.

I’ll try get around to a full upload at some stage - May take a while though as I’m currently a bit tied down.

Remind me later on, if you don’t fix it up yourself by the time I get around to it ^^

  3. would you like to upload your damage font to somewhere? Would really appriciate it!

  4. If you use WoWAceUpdater, take a look for “Shared Media” and you’ll get a big batch of extra fonts and textures for damage and bars.

Can’t remember what particular Font it is, but you can browse through them and try them all out - Some very nice ones there, but I use my one purely because it’s big and noticeable ^^

  7. I’ve gone to Options>Video and reduced my UI SCALE down to the smallest. It shrinks the entire UI without reducing/increasing your resolution.

I currently play using 1280×960 Resolution with UI Scale turned down to minimum.

It allows me to shrink the chat-window and fit it inside the Spartan UI frame.

    Comment by RopeDrink — August 30, 2008 @ 7:16 am

  8. Ok, and what might be your font’s name? =)

    Comment by some dood — August 30, 2008 @ 9:46 am

  9. and how do i install it, sorry for spamming.

    Comment by some dood — August 30, 2008 @ 9:50 am

  10. You throw the folder into the interface/addons folder, just like any other addon.

I can’t remember the font, but if you use something like Scrolling Combat Text you can take a peek at each individual one - All I remember is I picked one of the big chunky ones ^^

I’ll look into it further someday once I get back home to my computer.

  11. I am trying to get the combat logs and chat logs to fit as well, but it’s being weird. I went to the video options and moved the ui scale slider down to the smalles possible, and I am using 1280×1024 resolution, but I still have to shrink the logs down very small to get them into the ui. I really want to get them like you have them at normal size. Any suggestions?

    Comment by Rakfang — August 31, 2008 @ 12:30 am

  12. Mine aren’t normal size - I shrunk the combat/chat logs down as small as they could go to fit them in, also ^^

Probably looks different because my resolution is slightly bigger, making them look bigger.

  13. Please please please tell me how the hell to fiddle with the options in spartan UI? Are you changing the file config to remove some or?

And as a side note. LOVE the movies. Carry on the good work. Now levelling a troll female hunter in homage. ;)

    Comment by Digi — September 6, 2008 @ 10:30 am

  14. The large majority of things require you to edit the .LUA in notepad.

Things like fixed bartender positions // fixing the mouseover bug (when using anything other than default blizzard tooltips, such as CowTip or TipTac).

The other things can be edited manually - If you find that certain things seem ‘locked’ in position then you’ll need to edit the co-ordinates of that object in the .LUA - There are other things such as removing the castbars if you prefer using your own, but you’d best check the Spartan UI forums for details on that one as I’ve kept a decent chunk of Spartan UI on it’s default level, just removed a chunk of mods I didn’t like (mostly PvE ones) and edited the petbar for my Hunter.

Make sure you backup the original .LUA just incase.

  15. Well, I played and I played but I got frustrated as hell with it. Ended up taking most of the functionality and doing it myself with mods. Bartender 4 instead of 3.. pitbull, mapster and minimapster (to move the minimap to the bottom) chatmod, quartz etc etc. Layout being near the same as Spartans but due to it being all Ace 2 and all mine, infinately more configurable.

One thing I cannot figure out is buffalo. It just comes up with a ton of green and red boxes that I cannot seem to downsize. Ah well, i’ll work it out. I’ll post screeny later.

Oh and off-topic. No more click-boom till wrath release and level 80??

    Comment by Digi — September 7, 2008 @ 7:23 am

  16. Buffalo took me a little time to get used to but it’s actually a great mod - If you right click your FuBar at the bottom (Or top if you configured it that way) the mod menu opens up and you should be able to see an option for Buffalo and to resize the buffs / debuffs, how many rows for each etc etc

When you’re done with that and have moved them where you want (When they are red / green boxes, thats just meaning you can move the green [buffs] and red [debuffs] around), you type /buffalo lock and there you have it.

Click Boom gets created anytime I’ve done enough arena - So while I don’t deny one could be made before WotLK and lev 80, it really isn’t likely as Nebu is raiding and Kisall is still gone. Even Kuarbaulle’s gone missing and I’m currently playing my new Shaman on Skullcrusher PvP server so… We’ll see :)

  17. @RopeDrink

I am using SpartanUI v2 without any other addons except those that come with it. I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to configure it, what I am trying to do in expand the darken box were bars 6 and 10 sat, so I can place my chat boxes in there instead.

I noticed in a post above and in the screen shots of your UI that you had done this, and I was hoping you could explain how you did it or guide me to were it is explained.

    Thanks

    Comment by Deskjet — September 22, 2008 @ 2:03 pm

  18. I haven’t actually edited any sizes of any bars - It was explained on WoW-Europe UI & Interface forums that the only real known way to get the chat-box to fit into the left / right sides of the screen was to go to the in-game menu screen, VIDEO options, and decrease your UI Scale.

I have mine set to very near, if not totally, at the bottom.

It’ll shrink the entire UI right down, whereas the Spartan UI image at the bottom stays around the same size, giving loads of space at the ’sides’ to throw in any little extras.

I also increased my resolution (I used to use 1024×768) but now I’m on 1280×960 (Granted, not a major difference, but it helps to feel like you have more ’space’ on your screen to mess around with addons and UI settings)

    Hope this helps out.

  19. For some reason i cant see the minimap at the bottom, it appears a black circle and thats it, but everything is working fine for me. Can you please help me. Thank you.

    Comment by Collord — November 12, 2008 @ 6:26 am

  20. Not sure how to help, really.

Be sure to check on the Spartan site, they have forums dedicated to bug-squashing.

The map-addon itself is called Cartographer, see if you have/dont have it and/or check for updates of it. Otherwise I’ve no idea how to help as I’ve never had this issue, sorry.

    Comment by RopeDrink — November 12, 2008 @ 7:06 am

  21. Love the movies. Are you editing in the phasing effect on the screen on crits or is one of your mods doing that? I know that’s such a gimmicky thing but … well… I like goofy eye-candy :)

    Comment by Kalain — January 20, 2009 @ 8:05 am

  22. Thats me editing it - I don’t have a problem with raw footage, but when you’re making a 10min movie it can be very bland if there’s no real editing in their to spice things up so you don’t feel you’re just watching some person playing the game.

Crit effects I don’t use too much, but I used in my latest movie to emphasise how moderate our damage is, unlike say Arcane mages with massive instant crits.

  23. Hey ho …

plz up me ur full addons + wtf folder. this is the most amazing ui i’ve ever seen. i need it =) …

    thanks in advance

    so long lxp

    Comment by LxP — January 27, 2009 @ 10:25 am

  24. Glad you like it - However it wont help using my WTF folder as all my addons are set to be shaped, sized and modified to my UI Scale, resolution and based on all my 5 characters, so you’d just get a total mess that would take longer to sort out than simply getting the listed mods and shaping them all for your own UI.

Trust me, I tried one of the packages before that someone recommended and they rarely ever look the same as advertised because everyone has different resolution / monitor settings, scales and preferences.

Besides, the file is absolutely massive to download also >.<

  25. Hey, I was wondering how you changed your damage font (the one that appears over the enemy’s head)

    Comment by Rd — January 27, 2009 @ 2:29 pm

  26. Hi there.
As far as I’m aware it’s a blend of the ‘Shared Media’ and ‘Scrolling Combat Text’.

Shared Media adds more potential fonts, art and details for certain mods to use, and SCT has an option for replacing WoW’s Damage Font with that used in SCT.

So, because SCT has more font options due to Shared Media, I set SCT to replace WoW’s damage Font with one of them.

The damage font is called ‘Bazooka’ as far as I remember - I chose it because it’s very big and very noticeable, very easy to see and helps when recording ^^

  27. Hi, can you please tell me if there is any chat window that can be moved ? Or can I move this one …

    Comment by Raylol — January 27, 2009 @ 9:28 pm

  28. well i wondered about buffs on my spriest, which addon should i use to see buffs i got on myself better since on spartanui character bar they re pretty small and difficult to notice. if u could help would be nice xD

    Comment by raffie — January 27, 2009 @ 10:57 pm

  29. and i also wondered about the best pvp talents xD

    Comment by raffie — January 28, 2009 @ 2:00 am

  30. Hmm I dont use any chat-window mods - I just shrink the default one down to minimum and play on 1280×960 resolution with UIScale set to Minimum.

This makes the most space on screen, and the chat log (When shrunk to the smallest) fits perfect in the corner.

As for the buffs, I use BUFFALO for that. You can re-size and move your Buff/Debuff bars how you want them. I have my buff/debuffs above my portrait on the left so they’re easy to see, but you could have them wherever you want ^^

As for PvP talents, you’d be best asking on the Priest forums for advice or suggestions. Im one of those people who just chop and change it often and don’t usually pay heed to nit picking or researching whats best, so me giving advice wouldn’t be nice as I honestly haven’t got a good answer ;/

  31. i have a problem with Buffalo fo some reason and don’t know what i can do about it. I would like to send u a picture to see it but dunno if it possible here. i have many slots and they re almost over my whole screen. I got 2 purple. 25 green and 16 red slots. I dont know how to remove those i dont need and re-size them. is there maybe an email adress i could send a picture so u can see it better xD. Sorry if im bothering

    Comment by raffie — January 30, 2009 @ 12:20 am

  32. Red are debuffs, Green are Buffs, Purple are weapon Enchants (Oils / Enhancements).

I used to use FuBar to open menu options for mods that didn’t have menu screens, but since I removed it there’s only menu commands.

If you use /buffalo there’s a list of commands there but I never used it so I can’t help much with it, but I do know that if they’re all over your screen (HUGE) then your resolution may be low. They can be resized and can have certain lines per row etc etc once you find out how to do it.

Once happy you use /buffalo LOCK to remove the red/green/purple borders.

I dont know how to help you with it as I dont have the menu screen anymore, but if you do a search for the Buffalo Mod, there’s sure to be command lists and help supplied somewhere from users who use it all the time ^^

  33. thank you very much

    Comment by raffie — January 30, 2009 @ 10:34 pm

  34. No problem.
If you use WoWMatrix (Similar to the old, and now cancelled, WoWAceUpdater) then you’re able to browse tonnes of mods and auto-update all available ones (If you use Spartan UI do NOT let any program update Bartender4 or Spartan, though).

I discovered an addon that acts as a menu screen for all mods that don’t have that option.

Can’t remember what it’s called and I haven’t tested it to see how effective it is, but if it works then that can cure a lot of problems seeing as mods like Buffalo / Spartan only have slash-commands.

If I find anything else out, I’ll post it here in the future.

  35. Hey, was wondering; what’s the addon that makes the button “blink” when they’re ready?
Is that a part of Spartan or do you know the name of the addon?
    Btw Smooth Ui

    Comment by Qck — January 31, 2009 @ 4:05 pm

  36. Thats:

“CooldownCount - Cooldown timers for your buttons and actionbar.”

Listed above - Puts timers on the buttons and flashes them when cooled.

    Comment by RopeDrink — January 31, 2009 @ 4:18 pm

  37. Damn, fast reply! :<

I got that addon as well - can you recall the command to bring up the config for it?
Also do you know which section I should look under to enable the “blink”?

    Ty again

  38. EDIT:

If you go to Interface > Addons tab you can select the options there in the menu ^^

  39. Just checked around.
Seems like the addon, isn’t totally up to date - but still works with the current version of wow.
The command should be “/cooldowncount “, however it doesn’t work for me.

E.g. “/cooldowncount scale ” doesn’t do anything, and I can’t get any options up either.
ahh well, the addon still works with my button/bars, so..

I just wanted the “blink” to be a bit more visual :)

    Ty though

  40. Ahhhhhhh lol - it was that easy, loel - ty m8 x)

    Comment by Qck — January 31, 2009 @ 5:05 pm

  41. Keep trying - Worked for me, anyways.
If you send the scale too big the flash is ridiculously huge so don’t go OTT with it.
I’ve a happy medium between noticeable & large, without it being too big. As far as I remember it didn’t take too much of +Scale to do it, either.

Another way to try it is to disable all mods bar Spartan, Bartender and the mod you want to tweak, tweak that mod, reload UI and if happy, switch back the other addons (This makes sure no other mods are conflicting with your tweaking).

If that doesn’t work, then I’ve absolutely no idea what could be wrong - May be best to ensure you’ve the latest version of each addon, also, using WoWMatrix.

  42. hi, i was wondering if you possible can put a .zip file up with your Ui.. it would be great if u did:)..

love your movies:).. keep it up!

    Comment by djingizz — February 3, 2009 @ 6:26 am

  43. I will not be uploading my WTF / Addon folders. I have seven characters and the sea load of mods within them are there to cater for each one and their respective class and want of either PvE or PvP.

On top of that, you’d be better off just simply downloading Spartan UI and configuring it for your own characters.

Spartan works with your desktop, so ontop of above problem you would have to even play at my resolution to have it even half look like what you see in the movies.

I will not be uploading the folder as it’s just as much work as downloading and tweaking it to your own preferences. Trust me, I’m saving you a big headache if you do it that way.

Keep an eye on SpartanUI forums, too, and maybe you’ll see why >.>

    Comment by RopeDrink — February 3, 2009 @ 3:26 pm

  44. I was wondering, what AddOn are you using that has the char’s faces moving on the UI?

    Comment by Omgrawr — February 7, 2009 @ 2:42 pm

  45. Pre-Wrath version of Spartan used to contain it’s own 3D Portraits, however they have since been removed.

They suggested on their forums to use an addon called “Adapt” so thats the one you’re after. Has a few minor, barely noticeable issues but gets the job done.

Will add it to the above list now that you reminded me ^^
